Camping
at the ranch is FREE for students. You are welcome to bring tents or RV's while
you are training. There are also nearby lakeshore camp areas like Cedar
Point Recreation Area.
Train with Hill Country Paragliding and enjoy the beauty of the Texas Hill Country. We train at the Flying Armadillo Ranch in Tow, Texas. The 330 acre Longhorn cattle ranch has a 120' training hill and 80 acre tow/motor park with a stunning view of Lake Buchanan.
Powered Paragliding students will enjoy the captivating views of Lake Buchanan, the winery and the sprawling Texas Hill Country.
Staying at the ranch includes a nature retreat complete with bird watching and lots of animals including deer, wild turkey, armadillos, jack rabbits, and our Longhorn cattle.Nearby Lake Buchanan is great for fishing and boating. There are a few restaurants within 30 minutes of the ranch. Hiking at Enchanted Rock and visiting nearby Llano and Frederiscksburg are favorite pasttimes for bad weather days and non-flying companions.

Tow (rhymes with "cow") is a small fishing village on Lake Buchanan, located about 65 miles NW of Austin, Texas. If we are booked full at the ranch, accommodations (small cottages) are available at several local resorts. These resorts are only 1-2 miles from the ranch, but they do not have in-room phones or TV.
